Target Species
Brown Trout
Brown trout are the apex predators in their waters. Our browns naturally reproduce and thrive in the cold-water sections of tailwaters below dams, where optimal temperatures are consistently maintained year-round. The average size we see is typically around 12 inches.
Striped Bass
My favorite local fishing experience is targeting Striped Bass. We have a unique opportunity to catch giant Striped Bass using shad-imitating streamers as they migrate upriver from our lakes during the spring and early summer. These hard-fighting fish can reach up to 40 pounds!
Rainbow Trout
Our Rainbow Trout fisheries have some natural reproduction, but they are primarily stocked, with the Chattahoochee receiving over 300,000 trout each year! Most of our trout are caught using subsurface nymphs, and the average size we see is around 9 inches.
F1 Largemouth Bass
On our private water trips, we’re fortunate to have the opportunity to target F1 strain largemouth bass. These hard-fighting fish grow to impressive sizes, and it's common for anglers to catch their personal best bass on these trips! We typically target them from late spring to early fall.
